Homework 1: Web Page 1

Homework 2: Infographic

Homework 3: Hotel Website 1

Hotel Website 2

Homework 4: Hotel Internal 1

Hotel Internal 2

Homework5: Parrallax

Homework 6: Slider

Homework 7: Provost 1 and Provost Final

Homework 8:GameSalad Game (Inside my FileZilla in the gamesalad folder, no idea how to get it out)

Homework 9: Ecommerce Home and Ecommerce Internal

Homework 10: Scrollrama

Homework 11: Isotope- still working on it

Homework 12: Transitional- no chance of starting

I’d obviously like to have my last two projects dropped because they just don’t exist. You haven’t seen my Game Salad game- it’s similar to whack-a-mole with a 30 second timer and sharks instead of moles because everyone hates sharks. You have also not seen my Scrollarama, of which I am very proud so please look. I think it’s a great promotional-type site for my work. Everything is clickable also which is pretty cool. I’d like an A in this class because I think you can definitely see improvement in my work. I’m doing to do a little defending now:

My Parallax was intentionally dark and moody and I decided not to change it. I searched out those photos and shopped them to all look like that, so I’m sticking by that choice because I still like it. It’s Night Before Christmas-y

My Ecommerce site could definitely use more words, but I still think it’s pretty eegant while being functional and simple

My slider is one of my favorites because I started to shoot for these projects instead of searching for images. It was motivational

My Scrollarama is my favorite. It’s simple and matches my site and is pretty

Anywho, this class was really great and I will definitely be taking more web design classes, most likely after I graduate. I’m even considering a graduate degree… what have you done?!

Have a great Christmas!

Favorite Website: www.newegg.com

Screenshot

I’d have to say that my favorite website is Newegg.com as I spend about half my day looking through all of the computer deals they have going on. I also really like the way they structure their website as they have links, filters, etc., to conform the site to provide very specific results. For those who don’t know, Newegg.com is basically the Amazon for computers, as they sell anything and everything that deals with computers and electronics. Below I have provided a screenshot of their homepage, giving an idea on their site layout. Dealing with E-commerce websites is something I am considering as a potential career in the future, and a lot can be learned from Newegg as their business is extremely successful and, like Amazon, is an online only market.

Here’s my provost thing

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/index.jsp

It doesn’t really need a screenshot because it changes every week or so, but this is the website I constantly go back to. Not just because the clothing there is exorbitantly expensive and I can only pine away at my lack of personal funds, but for how fresh the website is every time I go back. Everything is interesting, and I never tire scrolling through their parallax, or exploring the many trinkets and various clothing lines – that’s just a testament to how well this website is designed.

Snapshot of Website

I like DeviantART.com so much because people from all around the world are able to post their work. Their work can include drawings, paintings, photographs, costumes, stuffed animals and a bunch of other works. DeviantART.com you are able to comment on peoples creations, and you are even able to purchase a piece of work that you like. Like I said before, this is where people from all around the world can met and talk to one another. I even put up my own art work for people to see. Plus that is my ID for DeviantART.

Phantasy Tour:

Screen Shot 2013-11-04 at 4.54.33 PM

My favorite website is a music forum named Phantasy Tour. Divided by bands or location, the user can enter the realm of either his favorite band or his hometown, and discuss, with like-minded individuals, upcoming concerts, artwork, or almost anything.  Because this tight-nit community uses it solely, most topics being discussed happen to be of interest to me.  Users can track their statistics; based on shows seen and even down to the number of times the user has seen each song. This general jam-band forum has provided me with countless hours of entertainment while also providing me with current events and other important matters.  While the level of sarcasm seems to scare the new user away, everyone welcomes discussion of my favorite music with open arms.

Assignment 7

M-W.com (Merriam Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus) is my favorite website because I like to look up words. Besides Google, it is probably one of my most frequented website. Its layout is kind of hectic and chaotic but its easy enough to ignore the additional informational bars and just focus on the search bar. However, if you feel like being a nerd and playing word games, or finding out history related to language, or learning new obscure words the m-w.com website’s additional informational panels are great to explore. It’s the intelligent way to procrastinate!

My Favorite Website

youtube

My favorite website is YouTube, though to be honest, I think the design of the website needs to be worked on. There are a couple of major flaws that really impact the usability of the site. The first issue is with the inbox. People can send each other messages through YouTube, but there is no inbox button to view them! You need to remember to manually go to youtube.com/inbox to check your messages. Another issue is a feature that they just recently removed, video responses. Video responses were a way that viewers could connect with content creators by making videos, and linking them to the original video that they watched. YouTube recently removed this feature, saying that not enough people utilized them, but I think that video responses were an integral part of the YouTube community.

youtubesnapshot

My favorite website is YouTube because it has something for everyone. You want to know how to make cookies? There’s a video to teach you how. You want to see cats on watermelons? There’s a video of that. You want to watch old 80′s-90′s cartoons? You can find someone who uploaded the whole series (until Viacom, FOX, Disney, etc. shuts it down). There’s a lot of different videos to see on YouTube. Just do not read the comments. Just don’t.

Here’s my final animation.

One of my favorite websites is Tumblr.com because it’s the best way for me to procrastinate on my work or kill time. There are a ton of pictures, gifs, videos, etc. to look at to keep my interest. The basic purpose of the website is very similar to Pinterest, but I prefer Tumblr because the layout doesn’t give me a headache (you look at two or three posts at a time on screen instead of 20-something) and it’s simpler to use because there aren’t boards or other things to post to; just re-blog and done. The design of the site is very simple, the buttons are easy to find, and it even allows a user to have their own freedom in designing the layout of their blog. I use this site when I’m at a creative block because there are a ton of amazing artists and new artwork constantly being posted, so I can look through photo tags to get some inspiration. There are also many funny posts and videos that keep me from losing my sanity, so this site is definitely my go-to when I need a distraction.

image

I don’t really have a favorite website but imgur is one I find myself on quite frequently when I’m bored. It has some of the funniest pictures, memes, and gifs all on one website. You can choose a specific category to look at or you can just browse what’s popular. I didn’t know about the website until my friend introduced it to me and I’m glad he did. It’s one of the easiest ways to consume your free time if you’re just looking for some laughs and funny pictures. Once you reach the bottom, more images automatically load so you don’t even have to do much work (for all the lazy people out there).

And my favorite website:

New York Public Library

http://digitalgallery.nypl.org/nypldigital/index.cfm

Any time I have to do anything for anything, I start at this website. I don’t use the internet as much as I should but I like this site because it’s a lot like a library. There are images of just about everything throughout history, photographs, drawings, books, advertisements, and fabrics. It’s similar to the library of congress’ website but I like the organization better on this site. Basically it’s awesome because it follows a great grid, but also there are many different ways to browse information. You can search by subject, division, author, owner, location, there’s like the longest A-Z subject list that I’ve ever seen in my life. They also have featured categories that you can click on and either browse all of the images or click through the individual sources. You can also create a username and save images. It’s just the best source any time you need to be inspired.

uncrate.com is probably my favorite website.  THis site is one hell of a time killer.  They feature new items daily that you would most likely not come across elsewhere.  They have everything from cars and craft beers to gadgets and movies.  The site is geared towards men but I am sure there is some stuff that girls would find interesting on the site.  Unfortunately most things on the site are out of my price range, but it is still fun to look.

My favorite website is reddit.com. I like reddit because it is a great way to kill time. Before I found reddit, I had to search all over the internet to efficiently kill time, but now I can do it with just one stop. Whenever I’m bored, I can go onto reddit and look at interesting and funny things. A good amount of the content is user generated, so there’s always new stuff to look at, and you can contribute too if you want to.  There’s nothing particularly special about the design of reddit, but it doesn’t get in the way, which is good. The design is simple, clean, and uncumbersome.

For the website, My favorite web sit is the IGN, which is about all the video games and tech stuffs. I love this web site not only it is fantasy for me, but also it is the website which I used a lot of time on it. The articles in there are very interesting, the videos and the games images are so cool for me, especially for the background, it always changes all the time.
